The SAM Web Standards follows the 18F Content Guidance when writing content for the web:

• active voice,
• acronyms and abbreviations,
• address the user,
• avoid duplication,
• be concise,
• conscious style,
• plain language,
• capitalization,
• legal and technical content,
• URLs and filenames,
• punctuation,
• headings and titles,
• FAQs,
• trademarks,
• imagery,
• voice and imagery,
• common words and phrases, and
• references.

Reading-Level

The SAM Web Standards attempts to use a fifth grade reading level.
